I can't believe we're in our final week before Christmas break! We discussed that Christmas is one week from today--CRAZY! The kids are excited to say the least, as I'm sure you all know! We had quite the eventful day today. We did some catch-up work (left over morning work, reading group work, or math work) that needs to be finished up before report cards. Grades will be submitted by the 15th. The paper copies will be sent home on January 19, but you will be able to view them online before then. I'm working with Mrs. Busch to get a good handle on how kindergarten grades work at St. Wenc, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
We also had the opportunity to listen to the 3rd grade poems that they will be performing at Mala Strana this week! They were FABULOUS, and the kindergarteners were a great audience!
We also had our final dress rehearsal for the Nativity Play today! Our Nativity Play will be at 1:00 on Wednesday. If I have contacted you about an additional costume piece being brought from home, please send it to school tomorrow so I know we'e got everything squared away! They are going to be fantastic--I can't wait for you all to see it. The rest of the school WILL be attending this play as well. The play is only about 15-20 minutes long with the entrance and the music. This will bring us to about 1:20. After the play, we will stay in the church for a while so you can take pictures of the kids in their costumes! They will all need to return with me to the classroom to get their costumes off before leaving school. If you are going to take your child home with you after the play, please give me a heads up. If a grandparent/other adult will be taking your child home early that day, please email me and the office so we can change their transportation plan for the day.
The Pre-K also has their play that morning (Wednesday), which we will be attending. We will not be attending the 3-4 year-olds' play. If your kindergartener has a younger sibling in the 3-4 class and you'd like to take them, let me know! They're certainly welcome to attend it with you.
Last but not least--your child can be out of uniform on Thursday. They can wear Christmas colors--red or green! They are NOT out of uniform on Wednesday.
We're getting antsy as we near the end of the school year! Please encourage your child to continue being a good listener, friend, and participant. Thank you! :)
I think that covers everything! Let me know if you have any questions!
