Good morning!
I hope all the kids had a refreshing 4-day weekend! We were blessed with some BEAUTIFUL weather! I can't believe we are already entering the final days of the school year. I will be using our 10-minute Zoom calls this week for a little bit of assessment as well as reading. Tomorrow, I will put out a link to schedule these calls for the rest of the week. Reading: We are going to start something new today! We are going to be using Scholastic BookFlix for a couple lessons each week. Scholastic put together incredible FREE resources for kids who are distance learning, and I think the kids will really enjoy them! Each lesson will include a video "book", a story to read, and a vocab game. I made a loom video for you and the kids to explain how the website works. I'll also include the link for today's video, book, and vocab lesson below. Please let me know if you have any questions!BookFlix Intro - Watch Vide https://bookflix.digital.scholastic.com/pair/detail/bk0051pr/story?authCtx=U.794217314 Math: Today the kids will work on patterns! They should watch my SeeSaw video first and then complete the worksheet. It has been a while since we've worked on patterns, so the review video will be helpful! They will ALSO complete a MATH MISSION starting today! In their big folders, I put a few sheets with smaller rectangles, each with a math problem on them. They will pick one each day to complete. If they still have their red notebook handy, they can glue their math mission into the next blank page in their notebook and solve the problem. (This is great practice finding the next page, cutting, gluing, writing the date on the top of the page etc.) I will outline this for the kids in the math video for today as well! I think they'll enjoy these!!! Writing: They will complete the "Mixed Up Sentences II" page! They should cut the words up on the bottom, glue the words in the correct order (look for periods and capital letters!) and then write the sentence on the lines. The sentence should fit! Lots of new things today! Let me know if there are any questions. Comments are closed.
