What a busy week we have! Before we jump into details...
Some of you may have heard that we had an extra-special visitor yesterday! My mom decided to pop in and say “hello” at the end of the day! The kids had a wonderful time asking her great questions and singing “Yellow Submarine” for her. They’re excited to see her again tomorrow morning at church, along with my grandma! I love it when my family gets to meet the most important 5 and 6 year-olds in my life! What a blessing.
Today we had a relaxed day before a busy next couple of days. We borrowed the iPad mini’s from 2nd grade and explored EpicBooks! for our Zoo Animal Research Projects! The kids loved listening to and reading non-fiction books about their chosen animal. EpicBooks! is an app and a website that you can check out at home too! You can visit getepic.com or download the app. We also worked on our Reader’s Theaters this afternoon; they’re so excited to share them with their special guests on Thursday!
I’m going to go over tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday. PLEASE don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or if anything is unclear!
WEDNESDAY: Tomorrow is our second and final kindergarten Mass of the school year! Students must be in uniform—please no out-of-uniform passes tomorrow! The kids have been working hard yet again for this beautiful Liturgy! They’re so excited to worship with the school and with you again. Please help your student get to school as close to 7:30 as possible. We will be walking over to the church at 7:45 as a class. Mass begins right at 8:00! You are welcome to sit in the front section by the choir. The kids have been reminded by Mrs. Gorr and myself that Mass is neither the place nor the time to be making faces at family members or friends. Feel free to find your child AFTER Mass is over to say “hello”!
THURSDAY: Thursday is a crazy day! As far as clothing goes, nice spring outfits will be perfect. Please NO jeans and NO spaghetti strap tops or dresses.
Living Rosary is the first major thing on the agenda—their special guests can come to the church by 9:00 and seat themselves. The kiddos will NOT be sitting with their guests for the service. After the service, grandparents will be given a school-wide itinerary that includes all the activities the various classrooms are hosting! We will be performing our Reader’s Theaters in the classroom 10:00-10:45. Visitors can feel free to come at 10:00 and leave after your child performs if necessary. I know there are some guests with multiple kiddos to support!
The afternoon concert is at 1:00. The special guests will go to the church to allow classes times to get organized before heading over. All are welcome to attend this concert!
For the evening concert, please have your child in my classroom by 6:00. We will leave for the church at 6:15 AT THE LATEST. The same dress code rules apply. The concert will run approximately one hour.
THANK YOU for your continued support as we wind down the school year. We have many memories left to make! Please send me an email with any questions or concerns.
